Gibbs Rubbish Removal is family owned and operated, and proudly serving the town of Sandwich for over 100 years!
Dating all the way back to before the 1920’s, with the help of his horse and wagon, Edwin Gibbs started Gibbs Rubbish Removal from his tiny farm in downtown Sandwich. He also began servicing cesspools for the town. In 1957, the company was then passed down to his son, Edwin II, and his wife, Dorothy, where it continues to be operated and run from the well-known, GibbsVille house on route 6A in Sandwich.
Together, along with all their children, the Gibbs family worked side by side, building the business to the enterprise we have today. Many residents can remember seeing Mrs. Gibbs, even into her 80’s, around town working to keep her customers happy and serve her community, a legacy that is still being led by her their daughter Tammy, her family, son James and their dedicated employees.
Along with waste removal services and through the support of local charities and organizations we are happily, and actively involved in the community. Many look forward to our annual Gibbsville Christmas Yard, that displays thousands of lights and many characters, and has been an ongoing tradition and open to the public for over 40 years. During this time, daily collections for the Sandwich Food Pantry are highly encouraged. Gibbs Rubbish is also a main sponsor of Cape Cod BMX, which has found a new place right here in our hometown and offers a space for people of all ages to try something new and build new relationships within our community. The Gibbs Family strongly believe in giving back to the local community. We believe it not only creates a personal satisfaction, it also creates a better environment for all families in our beloved home town.
